Duschek, Franz Xaver (real name, František Xaver Dušek)
Duschek, Franz Xaver (real name,František Xaver Dušek), Bohemian pianist and composer; b. Choteborky, Dec. 8, 1731; d. Prague, Feb. 12, 1799. He studied in Prague with F. Habermann and in Vienna with Wagenseil. He settled in Prague in 1763, as a teacher and performer; was a close friend of Mozart. He wrote several keyboard sonatas and concertos, syms., quartets, and trios.
