Tranchell, Peter (Andrew)

Tranchell, Peter (Andrew), English composer and teacher; b. Cuddalore, India, July 14, 1922. He studied at King’s Coll., Univ. of Cambridge (B.A., 1946; Mus.B., 1949; M.A., 1950). He taught at the Univ. from 1950 to 1989; was made a Fellow and director of music at Gonville and Caius Coll., Cambridge, in 1960.
