The European Union has "reaffirmed its unequivocal support to the European perspective of the Western Balkans countries", saying their future is in the EU. This was the message in a joint press statement issuing from a November 22 meeting in Brussels of EU, candidate country, and Western Balkans Foreign Ministers and other officials.

While Croatia is already an EU candidate country, the other Western Balkans countries - Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), and Serbia and Montenegro - are seen as potential candidates. The ...
