COUPLE GIVES $6 MILLION TO HOSPICECARE WILL HELP BUILD NEW FACILITY.(METRO)

A $6 million gift has pushed HospiceCare to the halfway mark in its drive to build a $20 million, 32-bed residential center here.

The donation came from Peter and Ellen Johnson of Madison, and the new facility will be called the Ellen K. and Peter O. Johnson HospiceCare Residence. It will be built next to the 18-bed existing Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg.

The gift was announced Wednesday afternoon as a surprise at what employees thought was a holiday party.
