A 95-YEAR-old man, who died after allegedly being force fed by a nursing home matron, may have choked on rhubarb and custard, the trial was told yesterday.
Avola Humphreys denies the manslaughter of William Henry Pettener who died at Bodawen nursing home in Tremadog, near Porthmadog, on April 12 last year.
The jury at Caernarfon Crown Court yesterday heard medical evidence from Home Office pathologist Dr Brian Rodgers and botanical expert Patricia Wiltshire who performed examinations on Mr Pettener and the contents of his lungs.
