Ports to seek watchdog's nod on new tariff charges.

May 3--NEW DELHI -- The Centre has revised the guidelines for regulation of tariff at major ports. As per the new norms, all major ports and private terminal operators will have to seek clearance from the Tariff Authority for Major Ports (TAMP) for any tariff revision or review proposal.
The clearance will have to be sought as per a timetable issued by the authority or at least three months prior to the expected date of commissioning of the new rate, facility or service. Tariffs once fixed will be in force for three years.
