Roman Catholic order seeks forgiveness.

A new leader of a province of the Roman Catholic Capuchin Order has said he is determined to show that the order is "truly sorry" for incidents of sex abuse allegedly committed by several of its friars at a Wisconsin preseminary preparatory school. Anthony Scannell, 64, was recently elected to head the order's St. Joseph Province, which covers a ten-state area of the midwest.

In an interview Scannell acknowledged the deep impact the scandal has had on the order. "There were none who volunteered for the job" as provincial, he said, and none of the current leadership sought ...
