In "Arctic Adventure" (pp. 12-14), you read about a trip across the Arctic by Aiain Hubert and Dixie Dansercoer. They are not the first explorers to head north. Below is a time line showing some expeditions to the North Pole. Use the information in the time line to answer the questions.

1908: Frederick A. Cook, an American doctor and explorer, claimed to have reached the North Pole on April 21, 1908. However, he could not produce records that supported his claim that he had reached the pole. As a result, his story was not widely believed.
