A GUEST speaker from Edinburgh will attend the annual lecture of the Horncastle-based Sir Joseph Banks' Society in Lincoln next month.

Society member Sir David Smith is looking forward to meeting fellow Banks enthusiasts when he presents the lecture at the Bishop Grosseteste University College in Lincoln at 6pm on Saturday May 17.

Sir Joseph Banks (1743-1820) was an explorer and botanist of world renown who owned the Revesby Estate and held the Manor of Horncastle.
