Supply and demand for glacial acetic acid have been kept steady for a time. Recently, the demand has suddenly been up, but the supply falls behind, making the price be increased by about 500 yuan per ton.

There are 30 producers of glacial acetic acid in China with a total production capacity of about 440 000 tons. 1993's planned output was 400 000 tons, but actual output in the year was 391 400 tons, while actual consumption - 390 000 tons.
