THIS is voice recognition - the next generation. The last time round the technology quite simply did not work. It misunderstood dialects from around the country and fired off e-mails and phone calls, it seemed, at ramdom proving totally unreliable.

"The last launch was just too early and did so much damage," says Eran Aharonson, president of the Israeli company, Advanced Recognition Technologies. "People found the technology did not work and were unwilling afterwards to trust any improved version."
