Original name, Monique Emond; born November 14, 1930, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada; daughter of Eugene and Yvonne (maiden name, Williams) Emond; married Pierre Mercure, September, 1949; children: Michele, Daniel, Christian. Education: Ecole Superieure de Musique d'Outremont, B.Mus., 1949; attended Montreal Drama Studio, 195860; also studied at Ecole Jacques Le Coq, Paris.
