Americium Spread To Pa. Lab Contamination From LANL Not Serious, Officials Say

Contamination from radioactive americium from a Los Alamos
National Laboratory researcher was spread through a Federal Express
package to a U.S. Naval nuclear power research lab in Pennsylvania,
according to a LANL report.
LANL officials discovered the package had been sent two days after
first learning of the contamination.
Contamination from the researcher has also been previously
detected at his home in Los Alamos and in Colorado and Kansas, where
he traveled to visit his wife and family members.
LANL officials have said the contamination detected off-site poses
no risk to the general ...
