As NATO's air campaign against Yugoslavia continues in its ninth week, the fate of the country's historic sanctuaries, monasteries and mosques is uncertain.

Reports vary on the condition of dozens of ancient religious sites located near NATO military targets. And refugees from Kosovo have confirmed suspicions that Yugoslav troops have destroyed dozens of mosques in that southern province, although a precise number has not been determined.
