Castile-La Mancha Region in central Spain; includes the provinces of Albacete, Ciudad Real, Cuenca, Guadalajara and Toledo; the capital is Toledo. It was captured from the Moors in 1212. Chief products are olive oil and grapes. Area: 79,226sq km (30,590sq mi). Pop. (1998) 1,716,152.
