Duvalier, ‘Baby Doc’
Duvalier, ‘Baby Doc’ ( Jean-Claude) (1951– ) President of Haiti (1971–86). He succeeded his father, ‘Papa Doc’ Duvalier as president-for-life. Though he introduced reforms and disbanded the Tonton Macoutes, he retained his father's brutal methods. Civil unrest forced his exile to France in 1986.
