hyoscine (scopolamine) (hy-ŏ-seen) n. an antimuscarinic drug that prevents muscle spasm. It is used in the treatment of gut spasm, to relax the uterus in labour, for preoperative medication, and for motion sickness. It is administered by mouth, injection, or skin patches. Trade names: Buscopan, Scopoderm TTS.
