New Zealand floral region Part of R. Good's (The Geography of the Flowering Plants, 1974) Antarctic kingdom. Approximately 30 genera are known to be endemic (see ENDEMISM) to it, but the surprisingly large number of endemic species (about 75 per cent of the total) belong very largely to non-endemic genera.
