Emanuel Libman
1872-1946
American physician who is known for his contributions to clinical medicine. He was the first to show that an aneurysm, which is a weakening of the blood vessels walls that leads to the formation of a sac in the vessel, can be caused by impact. He also made the first clinical study of blood transfusions in 1915 with R. Ottenberg. He studied the blood clotting of the coronary artery in the heart from 1917-28.
