Danon, Oskar (b Sarajevo, 1913). Serbian conductor and composer. Cond. Sarajevo Opera and PO 1938–41. Dir. Belgrade Opera and PO 1945–60. Chicago 1962; Edinburgh Fest. 1962 (f. Brit. ps. of Prokofiev's The Gambler and Love for Three Oranges). Cond. f.p. in restored Nat. Th., Belgrade, 1990 ( Konjovič's The Prince of Zeta).
