Mundy, John, English organist and composer, son of William Mundy; b. c 1555; d. Windsor, June 29, 1630. He received the degrees of B.Mus. (1586) and D.Mus. (1624) from Oxford. For more than 40 years, he served as organist of St. George’s Chapel, Windsor. He publ. (12) Songs and [15] Psalmes for 3 to 5 Voices (London, 1594; ed. in The English Madrigalists, XXXV/2, 1924; 2nd ed., rev, 1961 by T. Dart and P. Brett). Among his other works were anthems and Latin sacred pieces, as well as some keyboard music.
