Rossellini, Renzo

Rossellini, Renzo , Italian composer and teacher; b. Rome, Feb. 2, 1908; d. Monte Carlo, May 14, 1982. He studied composition in Rome with Setaccioli and Sallustio, and also took courses in orchestration with Molinari. In 1940 he was appointed prof. of composition at the Rome Cons., and in 1956 at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome. In 1973 he was named artistic director at the Opera at Monte Carlo. He publ. 2 books of autobiographical content, Pagine di un musicista (Bologna, 1964) and Addio del passato (Milan, 1968).
