17. The End of the Revolution
The American Revolution came to an end with this extraordinary moment in history. As Cornwallis and his men defeated patriot armies in Jersey, South Carolina and North Carolina – they weakened. Making their way up the coast of Virginia, they settled in Yorktown. It was there in 1781 that Cornwallis would surrender to American and French forces. The surrender of Cornwallis at Yorktown marked the end of the American Revolution and our battle with the Redcoats.
