30. John Smith’s Memoirs are thought to be lies
John Smith’s memoirs and journals were highly entertaining and also gave us insight into an extraordinary moment in history. After stories from his memoir surfaced many people were sure he was lying. Not just because a love story with Pocahontas was no where to be found but also because the stories seemed outlandish. Once writing about defeating three Turkish warriors by himself and all at once, Smith’s stories didn’t match what many thought would have happened but since then many of them have been corroborated.
