40. Attila the Hun’s unfortunate death
Many people are aware of Attila the Hun and his conquests. Fewer are aware of the extraordinary moment in history when he died. His death was extraordinary because it was simple and not in battle or at the hands of defeat. Just before he was to marry the love of his life, Attila suffered a severe nose bleed while he slept. This caused his eventual demise as he began to drown. Some say he was too intoxicated to wake and prevent his own death.
