6. The day Wall Street was bombed
Few know about the initial attack on Wall Street that took place nearly a century ago. This extraordinary moment in history happened on September 16, 1920. On the corner, in front of the J.P. Morgan building a bomb went off, littering the streets with debris and bodies. To this day, it’s unknown who placed the bomb on that corner, but it was believed it was a group of radicals that thought the bank’s success after WWI was because they benefited monetarily from the conflict. No one took ownership of the attack but rumor has it, the damage can still be seen on the J.P. Morgan building.
