College pranks had been less harmless than this unbelievable photo from history shows us. Dating back to 1949, “Panty Raids,” were a common prank throughout the 1950s. Mischievous boys looking to prove their manhood snuck into the girls living quarters with aims of stealing their panties. It’s said that during the first panty raid, the boys went as far as to crawl through the heating ducts just to get their hands on some underwear. According to accounts from men who particpated in such raids, obtaining the panties was the only goal and returning from a panty raid without a pair was humiliating.
