22. The World’s First Amphibious Bike
Created in Paris in 1932, this unbelievable photo from history depicts the first amphibious bicycle ever made. It was designed to be able to operate on land and in the water. A custom bicycle frame was fitted with flotation devices on either handle bar and on the either side of the back of the bike. The wheels were hollow and also contained floats. It’s bizarre design made it nearly impossible to ride and contributed to why it didn’t go viral. Since then other amphibious bicycles have been created, but this invention has yet to catch on.
