27. A Huge Pile of Bison Skulls
In this unbelievable photo from history we are faced with the aftermath of Bison hunting. In the 19th century, Bison were hunted almost to extinction. Men killed them for their skins, which brought quite a bit of money in Germany. Hunters using their game for money rarely respect it, and the evidence is seen here. The carcasses of the Bison were left after they were stripped of their hides. Farmers collected the bones and used them to make fertilizer. Some of the bones were also turned into fine china.
