28. Feet Bicycles
An early version of the roller skate is seen in this unbelievable photo from history. Roller skating became a common past time well after this photo was taken in 1910. These roller skates were more like pedaling a bicycle. They moved when the person wearing them pumped their legs up and down. These turn of the century roller skates were created by a man named Edward Petrini and referred to as a Takypod, which simply meant a machine driven by pedaling. While they are very different than the roller skates we see today, they still look fun.
