30. Outdoor Urinals
Outdoor Urinals like this one used to litter the streets of Paris. This unbelievable photo from history shows a boy standing next to one in the mid-1800s. Historically these were placed on the street corners and in busy areas so that men who were out and about had a place to properly relieve themselves. Back when they were frequently used, they were referred to as “pissoirs.” When they were most in use, the city had over 1,000 of him. The indoor bathroom made them a dying breed, but we aren’t sure they weren’t a good idea.
