37. A book program for the sick
This unbelievable photo from history is of a mobile library for sick patients. In the late 1920s, patients that were sick and in the hospital didn’t have wall mounted TVs and remotes. While they were bedridden, they weren’t able to flip channels and call the nurse with the same remote. During those times, libraries often provided the only source of entertainment. Shelves filled with books were wheeled around to patient’s bedside to help provide them with some type of escape from their illness and pain.
