cover-sociability scale A method for recording vegetation, devised by Braun-Blanquet, in which two scales are combined. The first describes the number and cover of a species, ranging from presence through five scales of cover; the second indicates the spatial arrangement of the individuals concerned (e.g. as ‘isolated’ or ‘clumped’).
