Description:
Province-supported, comprehensive, coed. Awards bachelor's and master's degrees. Founded 1838. Setting: 250-acre small town campus. Endowment: $26 million. Research spending 2003-04: $1.4 million. Community Environment:
Acadia University is located in the Annapolis Valley town of Wolfville, 100 kilometers northwest of Halifax. The main buildings are on a high terraced slope, facing the broad diked meadows of the Evangeline Country and the Minas Basin, the body of water in the northeastern part of the Bay of Fundy. Wolfville is a beautiful, residential town of 3,000 people, with four churches and good elementary and secondary schools.
