Independent, comprehensive, coed, affiliated with Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Awards bachelor's and master's degrees. Founded 1847. Costs Per Year:

Application fee: $25. Comprehensive fee: $29,000 includes full-time tuition ($22,500) and college room and board ($6500). Room and board charges vary according to board plan. Part-time tuition: $330 per credit hour. Part-time tuition varies according to class time and course load.

Collegiate Environment:

Orientation program. Drama-theater group, choral group, student-run newspaper, radio station.
