Description:

County-supported, 2-year, coed. Awards certificates, transfer associate, and terminal associate degrees. Founded 1964. Setting: 186-acre suburban campus with easy access to Philadelphia. Educational spending 2003-04: $2696 per student. Total enrollment: 10,842. Student-undergrad faculty ratio is 23:1. 4,425 applied, 100% were admitted. Full-time: 4,679 students, 51% women, 49% men. Rural community (under 2,500). Suburban campus environment. 5 miles from (north) Norristown. Some bus transportation. Approximately 45 minute commute to Philadelphia. Surrounding industries include pharmaceutical and chemical-product companies; some farming.
