Description:

Independent Roman Catholic, comprehensive, coed. Awards associate, bachelor's, and master's degrees. Founded 1965. Setting: 50-acre suburban campus with easy access to Philadelphia. Endowment: $15.3 million. Educational spending 2003-04: $3191 per student. Total enrollment: 2,682. Faculty: 218 (78 full-time, 140 part-time). Collegiate Environment:

Orientation program. Drama-theater group, choral group, student-run newspaper. Social organizations: 15 open to all. Most popular organizations: Professional Education Society, Student Nurses Association, theater ensemble, Environmental Club, community chorus. Major annual events: Homecoming, Halloween Carnival, Winter Formal. Student services: health clinic, personal-psychological counseling. Campus security: 24-hour emergency response devices and patrols, late night transport-escort service, controlled dormitory access. 760 college housing spaces available; all were occupied in 2003-04. Neumann College Library with 75,000 books, 99,758 microform titles, 400 serials, 30,000 audiovisual materials, and an OPAC. Community Environment:

Population of Philadelphia 1,950,098. Aston is a suburban township serving a commuter population from the Tri-state area of Philadelphia, Wilmington and South Jersey. The city enjoys temperate climate. Local historical sites include Valley Forge National Park, Brandywine Battlefield, and many others. Nearby Philadelphia offers all the cultural, recreational, and community service facilities normally found in a metropolis. The immediate area is served by railroad and bus lines with an airport located 10 miles away. There are three hospitals and numerous shopping centers in the area. Part-time employment opportunities are good.
