Description:

State and locally supported, 2-year, coed. Awards certificates, diplomas, transfer associate, and terminal associate degrees. Founded 1967. Setting: 165-acre suburban campus with easy access to Philadelphia. Endowment: $12.8 million. Educational spending 2003-04: $2585 per student. Total enrollment: 8,246. Student-undergrad faculty ratio is 21:1. 2,917 applied, 99% were admitted. 1% from top 10% of their high school class, 8% from top quarter, 34% from top half. Full-time: 3,565 students, 55% women, 45% men. Part-time: 4,681 students, 70% women, 30% men. Required for some: interview, Interview required for radiography, veterinary technician, and diagnostic medical sonography programs; portfolio required for communication design, fine art programs; audition required for theatre program. Application fee: $25. Area resident tuition: $2070 full-time, $69 per credit hour part-time. State resident tuition: $4140 full-time, $138 per credit hour part-time. Nonresident tuition: $6210 full-time, $207 per credit hour part-time. Mandatory fees: $660 full-time, $22 per credit hour part-time. College room and board: $5604. College room only: $3262. Room and board charges vary according to board plan and housing facility.

Collegiate Environment:

Orientation program. Drama-theater group, choral group, student-run newspaper, radio station. Social organizations: 51 open to all. Most popular organizations: Phi Theta Kappa, Nursing Student Organization, NAVTA (Veterinary Technology Club), Student American Dental Hygiene Association, Video Waves. Student services: health clinic, personal-psychological counseling. Campus security: 24-hour emergency response devices and patrols, controlled dormitory access. 250 college housing spaces available; all were occupied in 2003-04. No special consideration for freshman housing applicants. Option: coed housing available.
