Description:

State-supported, comprehensive, coed. Part of New Jersey State College System. Awards bachelor's and master's degrees. Founded 1969. Setting: 1,600-acre suburban campus with easy access to Philadelphia. Endowment: $1.5 million. Research spending 2003-04: $331,743. Educational spending 2003-04: $5519 per student. Total enrollment: 7,004. Faculty: 461 (227 full-time, 234 part-time). Collegiate Environment:

Orientation program. Drama-theater group, choral group, student-run newspaper, radio station. Social organizations: 81 open to all; national fraternities, national sororities; 5% of eligible men and 5% of eligible women are members. Most popular organizations: Stockton Action Volunteers for the Environment, Board of Activities, Los Latinos Unidos, Unified Black Student Society, Stockton Residents Association. Campus security: 24-hour emergency response devices and patrols, late night transport-escort service, controlled dormitory access, on-campus sworn/commissioned police force. College housing designed to accommodate 2,080 students; 2,090 undergraduates lived in college housing during 2003-04. Freshmen guaranteed college housing. Option: coed housing available.
