Special Message

Saint Louis University School of Nursing is a leader in nursing distance education. It was the first nursing school in the US to offer complete master's degree programs in nursing online through the World Wide Web.

Currently, MSN, MSN (research), and post-master's certificate programs are available online for the acute care, adult, family, gerontological, pediatric, and psychiatric nurse practitioner tracks and for the adult, gerontological, perinatal, and psychiatric clinical nurse specialist tracks. Students complete all course work for the degree program through distance education. The online tracks are designed to follow the same curriculum and program objectives required of on-campus students. Faculty members work with students to help select clinical sites and preceptors that are compatible with the students' and the program's objectives. To participate, students must be comfortable using PC hardware and software and should have an e-mail account and be proficient in accessing the World Wide Web. Students enrolled in the online programs have access to the University's main and health sciences libraries and resources via the Internet.

On campus, the School offers several BSN programs; master's programs in adult nursing (CNS, NP), family and community health nursing (NP), gerontological nursing (CNS, NP), perinatal nursing (CNS), and psychiatric–mental health nursing (CNS); and a doctoral program in nursing.

Saint Louis University is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The School of Nursing is fully accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission and approved by the Missouri State Board of Nursing and has preliminary approval by the Committee on Collegiate Education of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.
