Barbershop ★★★ 2002 (PG-13)

Ensemble comedy looks at the unique culture found in barbershops in the black male community. Cube plays Calvin, discontented owner of a barbershop he inherited from his father. In debt, Calvin sells the shop to a loan shark, which sends all the shop's regulars reeling, as their haven will be turned into a strip club. During the shop's final day, when the film takes place, Calvin must come to grips with his mistake and recognize the value of his father's legacy. Though two lesser subplots detract from the engrossing barbershop talk, a host of interesting characters mesh with an original and entertaining story. 102m/C VHS, DVD, UMD .
