hypoproteinaemia
hypoproteinaemia (hy-poh-proh-ti-nee-miă) n. a decrease in the quantity of protein in the blood, resulting in oedema and increased susceptibility to infections. It may result from malnutrition, impaired protein production, or increased loss of protein from the body. See also hypogammaglobulinaemia.
