Tagus

Tagus (Tajo, Tejo) Longest river on the Iberian peninsula, flowing c.1000km (620mi). The Tagus rises in the Sierra de Albarracin, Teruel, e central Spain. It flows generally sw for 785km (488mi), passing through Toledo, to the Spain-Portugal border. It then winds s to drain into the Atlantic at Lisbon. The Tagus estuary is one of the world's finest natural harbours.
