1. The final age in the Devonian Period, preceded by the Frasnian, followed by the Hastarian Age (Carboniferous), and dated at 367–362.5 Ma ( Harland et al., 1989).

2. The name of the corresponding European stage, which is roughly contemporaneous with the upper Hervyan (Australia) and the Chautauquan (N. America).
