Born around 1247; died on May 2, 1302, in Paris, France;interred at Minoresses Convent, Aldgate, London; daughter of Robert I (1216–1250), count of Artois, andMaude of Brabant (1224–1288); married Henry I the Fat, king of Navarre (r. 1270–1274), also known as Henry III of Champagne, in 1269; married Edmund the Crouchback (1245–1296), 1st earl of Lancaster (r. 1267–1296), before February 3, 1276; children: (first marriage)Joan I of Navarre (1273–1305), queen of Navarre; (second marriage) Thomas (1276–1322), 2nd earl of Lancaster; Henry (1281–1345), 3rd earl of Lancaster; John (c. 1286–c. 1327 or 1337), lord of Beaufort; Mary Plantagenet (died young).
