Queen of Castile and Leon. Name variations: Juana Manuela de Castilla; Juana de la Cerda; Joanna de Castilla. Born in 1339; died on March 27, 1381 (some sources cite 1379), in Salamanca, Leon, Spain; daughter of John Manuel also known as Juan Manuel "el Scritor" and Blanche de la Cerda (c. 1311–1347); married Enrique also known as Henry II Trastamara (1333–1379), king of Castile and Leon (r. 1369–1379), on July 27, 1350; children: John I (b. 1358), king of Castile and Leon (r. 1379–1390); Eleanor Trastamara (d. 1415); Juana (died young).
