Born onDecember 7, 1724, at Leicester House, St. Martin's, London, England; died at age 27 on December 8, 1751, at Christiansborg Castle, Copenhagen, Denmark; daughter of George II (1683–1760), king of Great Britain and Ireland (r. 1727–1760), and Caroline of Ansbach (1683–1737); became first wife of Frederick V, king of Denmark and Norway (r. 1746–1766), on December 11, 1743, in Altona, Hamburg, Germany; children: Christian VII (b. 1749), king of Denmark and Norway (r. 1766–1808, who married Caroline Matilda [1751–1775]); Louise of Denmark (1750–1831); Sophia of Denmark (1746–1813, who married Gustavus III of Sweden); Wilhelmine (1747–1820); and one other. Following the death of Louise of England, Frederick V married Maria Juliana of Brunswick (1729–1796).
