Born on November 4, 1731; died on March 13, 1767; daughter of Frederick Augustus II (1696–1763), elector of Saxony (r. 1733–1763), also known as Augustus III, king of Poland (r. 1733–1763), and Marie Josepha (1699–1757); became second wife of Louis the Dauphin of France (1729–1765), on February 9, 1747; children: duke of Burgundy (1751–1761); duke of Aquitaine (1753–1754); Louis XVI (1754–1793), king of France (r. 1774–1792); Louis XVIII (1755–1824), king of France (r. 1814–1824); Charles X (1757–1836), king of France(r. 1824–1830); Marie Clotilde (1759–1802, who married Charles Emmanuel IV of Sardinia); Madame Élisabeth (1764–1794). Louis the Dauphin's first wife was Maria Theresa of Spain (1726–1746).
