British actress. Name variations: Mrs. Siddons. Born Harriet Murray in 1783; died in 1844; daughter of Charles Murray; married Henry Siddons (b. 1774, an actor and the son of Sarah Siddons ).
A Shakespearean actress of note, and the wife of actor Henry Siddons, Harriet Siddons was seen regularly at London's Covent Garden between 1798 and 1805. From 1805 to 1809, the actress performed at Drury Lane, at which time she appeared with the popular actor Robert William Elliston (1774–1831), playing Juliet to his Romeo. After 1809, Siddons assisted her husband Henry, who managed the Edinburgh Theater until his death in 1815.
