Born Sybilla Calma Mary Alice Bathildis Feodore on January 18, 1908, in Gotha, Thuringia, Germany; died on November 28, 1972, in Stockholm, Sweden; daughter of Charles Edward Saxe-Coburg, 2nd duke of Albany, and Victoria Adelaide of Schleswig-Holstein (1885–1970); married Gustav Adolphus, duke of Westerbotten, on October 19, 1932; children: Margaret Bernadotte (b. 1934, who married John Ambler); Birgitta of Sweden (b. 1937, who married Johann Georg of Hohenzollern); Desiree Bernadotte (b. 1938, who married Niclas Silferschiöld); Christina Bernadotte (b. 1943); Charles also known as Carl XVI Gustavus (b. 1946), king of Sweden (r. 1973—).
